Hobgoblin Gold is the latest beer carrying the little fella's moniker, and while Gold might be lighter in colour, it's definitely no lighweight. A combination of hop varieties & an infusion of wheat and malted barley has resulted in the perfect golden beer - with a huge hop punch.
There are IPA’s and there are legendary IPAs. Ours is legendary. Pale golden with orange glints this beer is forged from the finest British hops and varieties gathered from the far-flung shores of the pacific. Prepare for an intense tropical explosion of zesty oranges, grapefruit, honey and juicy bitterness. Winner of the World’s best IPA award. Like we said, Legendary.
This deep ruby coloured true King of Beers delivers aromas of treacle toffee and dried fruits. Brewed with a blend of the finest Crystal and Chocolate malts and the addition of Sovereign hops. Packed full of sweet caramel, coffee and earthy roasted malt flavours for a warming seal of approval.
A full, rich, sublimely fruity & satisfying indulgent beer; a beer for the connoisseur of the finer things.
A high proportion of crystal malt in Old Speckled Hen provides the key toffee/caramel flavour. The yeast used to ferment the beer provides the other key character - estery or banana/pear drop. This estery note provides the fruity and refreshing balance. The hops used add a palate cleansing herbal note and very slight orange citrus. A very malty, full bodied and warming ale.
Warming, malty and fruity. Pale and amber malts contribute to a mouth-filling and satisfying Horlicks and biscuity maltiness. Challenger and First Gold give a base note of herbal hop and Fuggles as a late hop contributes the main fragrant fruity and floral and spicy notes. Fermented slowly to give just enough fruity esters Abbot Ale provides a complex, satisfying and warming experience.
An easy drinking and refreshing IPA. Fresh dry hop, herbal character is provided by the mix of Challenger and First Gold hops. The use of crystal malt in the grist gives a satisfying toffee/caramel note and the addition of a little black malt adds just enough astringency to give a clean, dry finish.
Belhaven Black provides the classic deep, dark chocolate and roast coffee aromas and flavours of a classic stout with appreciably less bitterness. The depth of flavour comes from a complex mash bill including pale, crystal and chocolate malts as well as roasted barley – naturally 100% Scottish sourced. The beer is simply hopped with the Challenger hop, providing a clean, low level of bitterness, and brewed using the brewery well water and the Belhaven ale yeast giving a rich, dense, full-bodied pint.
